According to CTOnews.com news on April 9, China Nuclear Power released the completion of power generation in the first quarter of 2023. In the first quarter of 2023, the company accumulated commercial capacity of 49.7 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 5.67 percent over the same period last year, and online electricity of 46.764 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 5.23 percent over the same period last year.

As we all know, China is already the largest country in the world that uses nuclear power technology to generate electricity. According to current estimates, by 2030, China's nuclear power generation is likely to surpass that of the United States, which once led the world in nuclear power for more than half a century.

CTOnews.com learned from Chinese nuclear power officials that at present, the company controls 25 nuclear power units under construction, with an installed capacity of 23.75 million kilowatts; nine units under construction, with an installed capacity of 10.129 million kilowatts, ranking first in the world in the number of units under construction and installed capacity; and 2 units to be built with an installed capacity of 242.40 million kilowatts.

In addition, the company's New Energy Holdings has an installed capacity of 13.0606 million kilowatts, including 4.2569 million kilowatts of wind power and 8.8037 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power, another 211000 kilowatts of independent energy storage power stations, and 763.98 kilowatts of installed capacity under construction, including 155.5 kilowatts of wind power and 608.48 kilowatts of photovoltaic power.

In 2022, the WANO comprehensive index of 37 nuclear power units in China has been ranked first in the world for three consecutive years, and the comprehensive domestic production rate of the third generation of independent nuclear power has reached more than 90%.
