According to news from CTOnews.com on April 8, the national railway sent a total of 753 million passengers in the first quarter of this year, an increase of 66 percent over the same period last year. In March this year, the national railway sent an average of 8.58 million passengers a day, an increase of 171 percent over the same period last year, basically returning to the level of the same period in 2019. Since the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway began to resume operation on January 15, the two-way passenger flow has continued to rise, sending an average of more than 20,000 passengers a day, with a maximum of 40,000 a day.

In the first quarter, the national railway delivered a total of 970 million tons of goods, an increase of 2.3 percent over the same period last year, with an average daily loading of 179600 vehicles, an increase of 3.1 percent over the same period last year. The national railway sent 537 million tons of coal, an increase of 3.4 percent over the same period last year, including 398 million tons of thermal coal, an increase of 13 percent over the same period last year.
