CTOnews.com April 8 news, MSI was recently attacked by hackers, foreign science and technology media Bleeping Computer disclosed more relevant details. The attacker obtained 1.5 TB of data from CTMS and ERP systems, which contained all kinds of sensitive information about MSI.

Among the 1.5TB data stolen this time, the most noteworthy is the relevant source code, including BIOS firmware structure data, encryption keys and other files used by MSI.

The attacker threatened Weixing to pay a ransom of $4 million within a week (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 27.52 million yuan), which will be made public if it is not received when it is due.

After the security incident, MSI called on users: if you want to update the firmware / BIOS, be sure to get the documents from the official website of MSI MSI, and do not use documents other than official files to update.
