The researchers tested more than 15.68 million passwords using PassGAN, successfully cracked 51% of the passwords in less than a minute, cracked 65% of the passwords in an hour, cracked 71% of the passwords in one day, and cracked 81% of the passwords in a month.

The report also shares relevant statistics and recommends users to use complex passwords. If a user uses a 12-digit password consisting of uppercase and lowercase letters, it will take 289 years for PassGAN to crack the password. If you combine numbers, it will stretch to 2000; if you combine symbols, it will take 30,000 years to crack.
