CTOnews.com April 7, Airbus officially announced that Airbus helicopters and China's well-known helicopter leasing and operator Jade Airways signed a procurement agreement for 50 H160 helicopters. The agreement is also the largest single helicopter procurement contract for the model in civilian and pan-public services since it was launched in 2015.

CTOnews.com learned that the aircraft will be mainly used in the energy field, including offshore oil and gas platforms, personnel transport in wind farms, port pilotage, as well as emergency medical care, emergency rescue, public services and other areas. In addition, in order to ensure the long-term success of H160 helicopter operation in China, the two companies also signed a strategic cooperation agreement on the establishment of relevant support and service capabilities.

The Airbus H160 helicopter is designed for multi-mission and multi-purpose, integrates the latest Airbus technology, and has been certified to fly with up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel. Powered by the latest model Arrano, developed by two Safran helicopter engines, it can reduce fuel consumption by 15 per cent.
