Also announcing the release time of the first quarter's results is TSMC, the world's largest wafer foundry.

According to TSMC's official website, their first-quarter results will be released on April 20. A number of executives, including CEO Wei Zhijia and CFO Huang Renzhao, are expected to attend a subsequent conference call with financial analysts to give a detailed account of the second quarter's results and answer questions raised by analysts.

It is worth noting that in terms of the time announced by TSMC, the release of their financial results in the first quarter of this year has been delayed compared with previous quarters.

In the four quarters of last year, TSMC's results were released on April 14, June 14, October 13 and January 12 this year, respectively, and the results for the first quarter of 2020 and 2021 were released on April 16 and April 15 of that year, respectively. In terms of the timing of previous results, TSMC's results are usually released within half a month after the end of a quarter, rarely more than half a month. The results for the first quarter of this year were released on the 20th, which was obviously delayed.

For the first quarter, TSMC management expected revenue of $167m (CTOnews.com note: currently about 1149 yuan) to $17.5 billion (currently about 120.4 billion yuan) and gross profit margin of 53.5% 55.5% in its fourth-quarter results released on January 12. Revenue is expected to fall from $19.93 billion in the previous quarter (currently about 137.118 billion yuan), but if it is higher than the expected $17.5 billion (currently about 120.4 billion yuan), it is expected to increase from $17.57 billion in the same period last year (currently about 1208.82 billion yuan).
