Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Xiao Zhan cut the clue delivery! CTOnews.com April 7 news, Huawei DevEco Device Tool is a one-stop integrated development environment for smart device developers, supporting code editing, compilation, burning and debugging, performance monitoring and other functions, supporting C / C++ language, in the form of plug-ins deployed on Visual Studio Code (referred to as VS Code), supporting Windows 10 64-bit or Ubuntu 18.04-21.10 versions. It helps developers efficiently develop HarmonyOS Connect / OpenHarmony smart hardware devices.
HUAWEI DevEco Device Tool at a glance
1. New Features:
1) Add resource manager to support unified import, download and management of seven different types of resources.
2) Add SFTP function to synchronize remote source code, synchronize code or files to be tested in remote environment to local environment for debugging, reduce resource occupation of remote environment and improve debugging efficiency.
3) Added HDC capability to support direct interaction with devices on Linux, reducing file inconsistency caused by two transfers.
2. Enhanced characteristics:
1) Adapt Live Watch to OpenHarmony device development scenarios, support Live Watch variable monitoring capabilities under Windows and Linux.
2) Tool log enhancement, adding log information of critical paths, quickly locating problems through logs, and enhancing tool stability.
3. Fixed problems:
1) Fixed the problem that when Python is installed during installation, the verification on Huawei repo is not successful.
2) Fixed an issue where selecting OpenHarmony source directory when importing projects would cause you to fail to click OK to import projects normally.
Huawei HarmonyOS officially brings an introduction to the new and enhanced features of DevEco Device Tool 3.1 Release. For more information, click here.
The new version of Device Tool provides independent resource management capabilities. The source code, tools and chips are decoupled from each other. Developers can download the source code and tools supported by Device Tool according to their own needs. They can also import tools that are not supported by Device Tool through the import button, which greatly enhances the flexibility of Device Tool.
In Windows development environment, the Explorer entry is at the bottom of the left menu, click Enter and select the storage path in Storage Location. At present, resources are divided into seven types: source code, SDK, compiler, burner, debugger, various tripartite gadgets and toolkits packaged by various tools. Developers can click "Download" in the upper right corner to complete the one-click download of the required resources after checking the box in front of the required resources.
When adding new projects, you can download SDK or import local SDK through network environment. Currently, only the SDK with SOC Hi3861 is supported for one-click download, and other projects need to be manually imported by developers.
This time, support is added to customize and select the tool function needed on the project configuration page.
Device Tool adopts Windows + Linux mixed development environment, providing one-stop development capability, reducing the complexity of embedded development environment configuration and improving development efficiency. Added SFTP synchronization remote source code. SFTP can download Linux source code to Windows local on demand to support developers to start and debug locally in Windows without occupying Linux resources. It supports setting breakpoints, single-step debugging, viewing variables and other operations. At the same time, after debugging is completed, it also supports uploading the modified source code to the specified location of Linux to replace the source code, improving the resource utilization rate in the remote development environment.
System development involves frequent interaction between Windows, Linux, and devices, usually completing coding compilation under Linux, copying the compiled binary file to Windows, and then pushing the file to the device through HDC on Windows. Developers need to synchronize twice. If testing is involved, you will also need to copy the test scripts from Linux to Windows and redeploy an environment to Windows. For beginners, the environment configuration is more complex, if the OS compilation is not very familiar, and even file copy errors and other problems.
The new HDC function will open up the development device, Windows and Linux. Users can directly control the device on Linux without sensing the existence of Windows, reducing the file inconsistency caused by two transfers. Currently, only RK3568 and Hi3516DV300 standard systems support remote HDC capability. Under the condition that the port is unchanged, only the command to check the connectivity of HDC service can be used each time.
