­Chromium-based Opera web browser today released a new developer version, version 49.0.2705.0, which introduces a new privacy protection mode and all-in-one panel to erase most of the basic features of Opera.

­Opera 49 is still in the developer channel, based on the recently released Chromium 62.0.3188.4 open source web browser. The latest version of Opera 49.0.2705.0 introduces a large number of practical new features, of which the most noteworthy improvement is the new privacy mode for Linux and Windows systems.

Maciej Kocemba, product manager of ­Opera, said: "our initial privacy mode may cause eye discomfort because the background is black and the label is white. Now the privacy mode will better match the white theme, appropriately matching the black address bar."
