CTOnews.com, April 6 (Xinhua)-- in order to enhance the transparency of the Android ecosystem and expand users' control over its data, Google announced a new policy on Google Play: developers must provide the option to delete data and accounts within the app or on the web side.

The data security zone of Play Mall already allows developers to highlight that their applications have data deletion options, but we know that users want a simpler and more consistent approach.

The new policy will create a more intuitive experience, give users more control over their data and accounts, and enhance their trust in Play Store.

Under the new policy, developers are required to submit options on December 7, 2023. Developers can also apply for extension in case of special circumstances, no later than May 31, 2024 at the latest.
