Chris Meledandri said in an interview with foreign media Variety that DreamWorks Animation, of which he is a creative consultant, is seeking to restart the Shrek series and will retrieve the original iconic character dubbing, including Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz, which are currently in negotiations.

"We expect the actors to come back and negotiations have now begun. Every sign we get shows that the actors are very enthusiastic about returning."

In addition, Chris Meledandri hopes to make derivative films for the donkey role in Shrek. After all, Puss in Boots already has two derivative films.
