It is reported that the project is at a very early stage and no scriptwriters have been identified, but sources say HBO is keen to move forward with the project and put it into development. The source also said that the project may include a film part, that is, HBO and Warner Bros. will produce a film as an introduction to the series, although plans are still under change.

The show will show how Aegon Targaryen I and his two sister wives, Visenia and Raines, used their army and three dragons to conquer six kingdoms on the continent of Westeros except Dorne. In the process, Aegon Targaryen I became the first king of Westeros, the first man to sit on the Iron Throne, and the founder of the Targaryen dynasty. These events took place about 300 years before the story of Game of Thrones.

This will be HBO's latest project based on Westeros World. Following the global success of Game of Thrones, the premium cable network began developing a series of shows set in the world created by George R. Martin.

Of the many projects announced over the past few years, the only one that has been realized is the Dragon Family. The show premiered its first season in August 2022 and was renewed for its second season less than a week after it aired. The second season is currently in production.

Another partially filmed Game of Thrones project is a prequel to the long Night, starring Naomi Wirtz. But the project was eventually cancelled in 2019, the same day that the Dragon Family was officially booked.

It is not surprising that HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery are trying to expand the world of Game of Thrones and possibly combine it with movies, as the show remains one of the most valuable intellectual property rights in Warner Brothers Discovery's library.
