CTOnews.com, April 5 (Xinhua)-- the Super Mario Brothers movie was released in mainland China today, two days earlier than in North America. As a film and television adaptation of the classic game IP, the film is co-produced by Lighting Entertainment and Nintendo.

The Super Mario Brothers movie is adapted from the Nintendo game Super Mario Brothers, directed by Aaron Horvath & Michael Gellenick (attack of the Young Titan) and written by Matthew Vogel (Little Yellow Man 2 and Lego Movie 2). Chris Pratt voiced Malio and Anya Taylor-Joy voiced Princess Peach Blossom.

Super Mario Brothers is a classic horizontal version of the game developed by Nintendo and released in 1985, which was first launched on red and white machines. So far, the sales of the Malio series have exceeded 500 40 million units, which is the childhood memory of many people.

As of CTOnews.com, Maoyan Professional Edition shows that its box office has reached 13.069 million yuan on its first day.

In terms of word-of-mouth, the film's domestic Douban rating has not yet been released, but rotten tomatoes are only 55% fresh, with an average Metacritic score of only 48 and 100.
