CTOnews.com April 4 news, Shenzhen Transportation Bureau announced today: starting from today, non-deep household registration holders with valid Shenzhen residence permits can also apply for incremental indicators of new energy cars (pure electric cars and hybrid cars), and will not be required to pay basic medical insurance in the city for more than 24 months in a row.

The other requirements stipulated in the detailed rules for the implementation of incremental Regulation and Management of cars in Shenzhen shall remain unchanged. This policy shall be implemented from the date of promulgation and end on December 31, 2023.

This is another effort to stimulate the consumption of new energy vehicles after the recent introduction of automobile consumption subsidy policy in Shenzhen.

Data show that Shenzhen sold 211500 new energy vehicles in 2022, with a new energy penetration rate of 48 per cent. Up to now, the total number of new energy vehicles in Shenzhen has reached 766000, ranking first in the world. It is estimated that by 2025, the number of new energy vehicles in Shenzhen will reach 1 million, and the peak charging power will exceed 1.6 million kilowatts.

Notice of application conditions

According to the requirements of the promotion and application of new energy vehicles in Shenzhen, with the consent of the municipal government, we are hereby notified as follows on the adjustment of the individual application conditions for the increment index of new energy vehicles in our city:

Non-deep registered residents with valid residence permits in Shenzhen who apply for the increment index of new energy cars (pure electric cars and hybrid cars) are not required to pay basic medical insurance in this city for more than 24 months in a row.

In this circular, pure electric cars refer to the catalogue of models recommended for the promotion and application of new energy vehicles of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the people's Republic of China, as well as pure electric cars and fuel cell cars that are licensed to be imported in accordance with the relevant regulations of the State. Hybrid cars refer to plug-in (including add-on) hybrid cars that are included in the catalogue of models recommended for the promotion and application of new energy vehicles by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
