Thank you, Mr. Air, a netizen of CTOnews.com, for your clue delivery! CTOnews.com, April 4 (Xinhua)-- Samsung Electronics will produce a series of advanced driving assistance system (ADAS) chip "EyeQ" for Intel's self-driving company Mobileye.

EyeQ is installed on the car in the form of SoC and supports ADAS and autopilot technology. Mobileye has launched EyeQ 4, 5, 6 series and Ultra series products. Samsung Electronics has so far received orders for less than 5 series of products with 7-28 nm process.

Mobileye, which currently accounts for about 70 per cent of the camera-based ADAS chip market, was founded in Israel in 1999, was acquired by Intel for $15.3 billion (CTOnews.com Note: about RMB 105.264 billion) in 2017 and listed on Nasdaq in October 2022.

Because Mobileye focuses on design, it has always outsourced production. Before Samsung, TSMC was in charge of the production of the EyeQ series.

Samsung Electronics has produced chips for a number of self-driving companies around the world, such as Tesla Hardware 3.0 chips using 14nm technology since 2019. The company is competing with TSMC to secure orders for next-generation chips from Tesla.
