CTOnews.com, April 4 (Xinhua)-- Qt, a well-known cross-platform open source application development framework, has released a new version of Qt 6.5 LTS, which has been supported for a long time and has brought a lot of fixes and general improvements.

In terms of design, with Qt 6.5, the application can easily support the dark mode of the Windows platform. As long as the style used by the application does not explicitly overwrite the palette, such as the Fusion style, Qt respects the user's choice of color scheme and uses the dark system palette. Qt also configures the title bar and window frame to synchronize with the overall appearance, as shown in the following illustration.

In Qt Quick Controls, Qt completes iOS-style adaptations and implements many controls that are not available on native iOS. For Android-oriented applications, Qt has updated the Material style to the Material 3 design system.

In macOS application development, applications that use QMessageBox or QErrorMessage will display native dialogs with modern centered UI designs.

Qt 6.5 also adds support for Android 12 while ensuring that Qt continues to work as expected on older versions. Even with significant changes in the platform, a single build of the Qt application can now be deployed to any device running Android 8 through 12 without any changes.

With Qt 6. 5 multimedia support, the FFmpeg backend is now the default backend for macOS / Windows / Android / desktop Linux.

Qt 6.5 is the second LTS version of Qt 6, and the previous one is Qt 6.2 LTS version, which has been released for 18 months. In Qt 6.5, the Qt Quick 3D Physics module introduced as a technical preview of Qt 6.4has matured and is now fully supported.
