CTOnews.com April 4 News CTOnews.com has learned from Sony's official blog that accessibility tabs will launch this week in the PlayStation Store on Sony's PS5 console.

The Accessibility tab allows game developers to provide detailed information about the accessibility features supported by the game. When a player browses games in the PlayStation Store Game Center on PS5, a list of accessibility features can be seen by pressing the Triangle button if the selected game supports the Accessibility tab.

These accessibility features include visual and audio accessibility, as well as online communication features such as DualSense handle options, difficulty settings, and chat transcription.

Accessibility tabs will be available for PS5 and PS4 games on the PlayStation Store on PS5. If both PS5 and PS4 versions are available, players can compare accessibility tabs for each version via the drop-down menu.

Here is an example of more than 50 accessibility tabs available to game developers, grouped into six categories:

Visual accessibility features such as highlighted text, large text, color substitution, audio prompts, and directional audio indicators.

Audio features such as volume control, mono audio, screen reader, and visual cue options.

Subtitle options, including subtitle size, subtitle clarity, and large subtitles.

Control options, including button remapping, rocker sensitivity, and quick button press lights without pressing buttons.

Game options such as difficulty settings, skiable puzzles, simplified fast-time events, and game speed.

Online communication options such as text or voice chat transcription and ping communication.
