CTOnews.com, April 4 (Xinhua) for the convenience of car owners, gas stations in Beijing will be allowed to use mobile phones to pay in refueling areas as long as they are equipped with combustible gas sound and light alarm devices from this month. This is the regulation of the new "Safety Code for Gas Station Operation" of the Emergency Management Department, which came into effect on April 1 this year.

The refueling operation area refers to the area where refueling machines and other equipment are arranged in the gas station. The new safety specification proposes that customers can use mobile phones to pay in the refueling operation area with combustible gas acousto-optic alarm devices, and when the on-site alarm goes to the police, they should immediately stop using mobile phones and stop refueling-related operations, and deal with them in accordance with the emergency plan.

In addition, CTOnews.com noted that the new safety code also removes the requirement that motorcycles must be pushed off the refueling island before they can be ignited. Starting from April 1, 2023, motorcycle owners can directly start and leave the gas station without painstaking efforts.

At present, gas stations in Beijing are gradually installing combustible gas acousto-optic alarm devices to adapt to the new safety standards.
