Similar to its competitors, Greenroom's primary function is to let users create and join audio chat rooms with others. Last year, Greenroom changed its name to Spotify Live, but now the app is going offline.

A Spotify spokesperson told TechCrunch that the standalone Spotify Live app will be discontinued "after a period of testing." Spotify Live has been integrated into the Spotify app, the company said, and the feature is still available to users, at least for now. Many artists use Spotify Live to host "listening parties" to connect with fans, and Spotify will continue to explore such interactions.
