RISC-V Multimedia SIG was founded by Guangdong Saifang Technology, a member of the openKylin community, and is responsible for the integration and application development of the open source multimedia framework (FFMPEG / Gstreamer / OpenMax) of the RISC-V architecture platform on the desktop operating system in the openKylin community.

The goal of SIG is to create and be responsible for the integration and adaptation of openKylin open source multimedia framework in RISC-V architecture platform, and to complete and realize the successful operation of openKylin software and hardware encoder on RISC-V platform.

The responsibilities of SIG are as follows:

1. Adapt to the open source multimedia framework

Adapt to FFMPEG, Gstreamer, OpenMax and other open source multimedia frameworks on openKylin operating system

Integrate various open source multimedia frameworks on the RISC-V open source architecture platform, and run successfully on the openKylin desktop.

2. Adapting software and hardware codecs

Adapt the RISC-V software and hardware codec on the openKylin operating system to ensure its normal operation on the openKylin desktop.

3. Expand openKylin RISC-V ecology.

Develop all kinds of graphics application software as well as graphics and video applications on the transplant and adaptive application framework, cover more application scenarios and industries for openKylin on RISC-V, and promote and co-build openKylin on RISC-V ecology.
