CTOnews.com, April 3, AMD officially announced today that the FidelityFX Super Resolution (Super Resolution Sharp Technology) feature is now available in the latest updates to 3DMark Premium and Professional Edition.

Using 3DMark to test AMD FSR 23DMark many test projects can be specifically tested for different specific technologies, and this new test will help you evaluate AMD FSR 2.2, the latest version of AMD FSR 2 technology.

It is reported that the update of FSR 2.2 can enhance the enlarged image quality by reducing "high-speed" ghosting and improving time stability. With this functional test, you can compare the performance and image quality between AMD FSR 2 technology and native rendering that uses time anti-aliasing (TAA).

AMD FSR 2 performance comparison AMD FSR functional testing within 3DMark is based on an improved version of the 3DMark Speed Way benchmark and disables DirectX 12 Ultimate features, such as ray tracing, so it is compatible with various graphics cards that support AMD FSR 2 technology.

Before testing, you can set the output resolution you want and the image quality mode of AMD FSR 2-"Quality", "Balanced", "Performance" and "Ultra Performance".

Then render the scene of Speed Way at the native resolution TAA to get the benchmark performance when FSR is not turned on.

Finally, render the scene at a lower resolution (determined by the selected AMD FSR quality mode) and zoom in to the output resolution. The results provide FPS for each execution, so you can see how AMD FSR 2 technology can improve performance compared to native resolution TAA on the graphics card under test.

AMD FSR 2 Image quality comparison 3DMark's AMD FSR functional test also includes a built-in frame checking tool that compares the image quality of AMD FSR 2 technology with native rendering using TAA through an interactive parallel comparison.

This test function generates a series of frames displayed side by side in the selected AMD FSR 2 quality mode in the same Speed Way scene.

In addition, the feature pans and zooms in the images to see in more detail the differences between the native TAA and AMD FSR 2.2 output, and all frame images are stored in a temporary folder, so you can save them if you want.
