CTOnews.com April 3 news, according to the release of Longxin Zhongke, FPC community recently released a formal version supporting LoongArch architecture. Subsequent LoongArch OS distributions will be built directly from upstream community versions, and the LoongArch instruction set architecture will once again receive native support from the important underlying open source community.

FPC (Free Pascal Compiler) is a mature, versatile and open-source Pascal compiler with an active community for more than 20 years since its first release in 1998. FPC has supported a variety of processor architectures and multiple operating system platforms including LoongArch, compatible with Turbo Pascal and Delphi syntax, and has been widely used in the application ecosystem.

At present, LoongArch architecture code has been integrated into the main branch of FPC upstream community. This time, 13 commits and more than 20,000 lines of code have been submitted, mainly supporting compiler and rtl, which further improves the ecological puzzle of LoongArch architecture compiler and brings LoongArch base support for FPC-based application ecosystem. LoongArch open source ecological construction has taken a solid step forward again.

The Loongson team said it will continue to maintain the LoongArch version of FPC, submit lazarus to the community to support the IDE development environment, and continue to optimize the FPC backend to provide developers with a better product experience so that users 'programs can run more smoothly.
