CTOnews.com, April 3 (Xinhua)-- "Wizards" and "Cyberpunk 2077" game developer CD Projekt Red reported fiscal year 2022 revenue of about $222 million (CTOnews.com Note: current about 1.527 billion yuan), up from $207 million in 2021.

In addition, CDPR's net profit in 2022 was about $80 million (currently about 550 million yuan), up 66 per cent from a year earlier.

Sales of Cyberpunk 2077 rose 18% in 2022 compared with the same period last year, according to the report. Normally, game sales decline year by year, but the resale of Cyberpunk 2077 has helped the company to have its second-best year on record.

Cyber punk 2077, by far one of the most controversial games in the gaming industry, was released with so many problems that it was removed from PlayStation Store shortly after its release. CD Projekt gave players a refund and was fiercely criticized. However, with the popularity of the adapted animation "Cyberpunk: marginal Walker" and the continuous optimization of the game itself, sales and word-of-mouth have rebounded.

As can be seen from the chart, sales of "Cyberpunk 2077" soared in September 2022, which coincided with the launch date of the animation "Cyberpunk: marginal Walker".
