CTOnews.com, April 3, according to the statistics of the National IPv6 Development Monitoring platform, in February 2023, China's mobile network IPv6 accounted for 50.08%, achieving a historic breakthrough in mobile network IPv6 traffic exceeding IPv4 traffic for the first time, marking a new milestone in promoting large-scale deployment and application of IPv6 in China.

Data from the statistical platform show that as of CTOnews.com, the number of IPv6 Internet active users in China reached 742.4 million, accounting for 70.64%.

IPv6 is the abbreviation of "Internet Protocol Version 6" (Internet Protocol version 6). It is the next generation IP protocol designed by the Internet Engineering Task Force to replace IPv4. This protocol can give a unique network address to a large number of network terminals, which solves the challenge to the industry caused by the lack of IPv4 address capacity.

According to the monitoring of the China Academy of Information and Communications, as of February 2023, more than 95% of CDN nodes in China have supported IPv6; in 54 availability domains of 13 major cloud service enterprises in China, and 40 of them have better IPv6 access quality than IPv4 access quality, accounting for 74.07%.

On August 24, 2022, the Central Internet Information Office organized and held a national conference on promoting the scale deployment and application of IPv6 in 2022. The meeting stressed that IPv6 is an important part of the overall layout of digital China construction. The development of IPv6 in China is at a critical stage of rolling stones up the mountain and climbing over the ridge. The upgrading and transformation of IPv6 has entered the critical area. It is necessary to accurately grasp the situation and challenges faced by the high-quality development of IPv6, further stimulate the driving force of IPv6 development, give full play to the effect of increment driving stock, and promote the use of IPv6 for new equipment and services. Speed up the transformation of IPv6 network performance from convergence to optimization, application transformation from surface transformation to deep support, and development goal from the number of users to the quality of use.
