CTOnews.com, April 3 (Xinhua)-- Tesla Dezhou Super Factory (Gigafactory Texas) has reached a new milestone of 4000 cars a week, but the Austin plant still lags behind in competition with Berlin Super Factory (Gigafactory Berlin).

These two important factories are Tesla's simultaneous accelerated production project, with a goal of producing 5000 cars a week. Last month, the Berlin superfactory took the lead in achieving this goal, producing 5000 Model Y cars a week, while the Texas superfactory produced only 3000 Model Y cars a week.

Today, Tesla announced that the Texas Super Factory has reached the speed of producing 4000 cars a week.

Although the Tesla factory in Austin lags behind in competition with the Berlin factory, the Texas superfactory faces a different challenge from the Berlin superfactory. The main difference is that some cars produced by the Texas Super Factory are equipped with Tesla's 4680 battery unit, which can achieve the new "structural battery pack" chassis design.

It is reported that Tesla encountered some problems in improving the production of 4680 battery units. This may have affected production at the Texas superfactory, although Tesla has also taken some measures, such as using 2170 battery units to produce some Model Y cars, just as he has done in other factories.

CTOnews.com reported earlier that Tesla delivered 422875 cars in the first three months of 2023, setting a new record, and the increase in production speed will bring Tesla closer to achieving his annual production target of 2 million vehicles this year.
