CTOnews.com, April 3, Microsoft released three Insider versions this week for Canary, Dev and Beta channels. Typically, these Insider versions reveal new features that have not yet been publicly announced. The above new version shows that there is a limit to the number of tabs that Windows 11 is allowed to display when a user presses Alt+Tab.

This was discovered by Twitter user Xeno, who found that in the latest version of Insider, Microsoft adjusted the Alt+Tab option in its settings and now supports a maximum of 20 recent tabs, as shown in the following figure:

In previous versions, such as version 25314, Microsoft allowed you to switch "all tabs" (below).

CTOnews.com notes that the other options remain the same, namely "5 recent tabs", "3 recent tabs", and "do not show tabs". Xeno points out that all versions of Insider have received this feature, which means that this option may be introduced in the Moment 3 update.

Microsoft may add this feature to reduce the impact of tabs on system memory (especially if the sleep tab is disabled), which sometimes has an impact on low-end processors.
