The original title: "against ChatGPT4, Google launched the chat robot Google Bard, registration can be used for free"
In order to compete with ChatGPT4, Google has been quietly developing chat robots. The chat robot, called Google Bard, is almost exactly the same as ChatGPT, with the same function, similar appearance and almost the same training process. But what's different about Google Bard? How does it work? Is this another example of artificial intelligence changing the world?

Google Bard is the latest free chat robot. It can be used after registration.
Google Bard operates in almost the same way as ChatGPT. When you open it, you will see a text box. Enter the question in this text box and Bard will give you the answer.
You can ask it to write a poem about dinosaurs, name your pet, write website code, translate a poem into Arabic or ask it to solve a complex math problem. Google Bard can answer almost all questions, only in rare cases will reply it "do not understand this question" or "can not answer".
How does Google Bard work? In Google Bard's own words, the training process is a multi-step process.
The operation of Google Bard is divided into four steps.
The first step is to prepare the data. That is to collect data from a variety of sources, including Wikipedia, GitHub and other open source platforms. Google also uses data from third-party companies and internal data. All of these data are screened and prepared for the training process.
The next step is to feed this data into an artificial neural network (a processing system interconnected by a large number of processing units), which learns to generate text, translate and write different forms of creative content. In this way, chatbots can do anything.
After the model training is completed, the final test will be carried out. By comparing the output of the model with the artificially generated text, translation and creative content, we can determine where the model needs to be improved.
According to the test results, the model can be refined. Refinement includes adding more data to the training set, changing the architecture of the model, or using different training algorithms. The research team is now doing this step, and the chatbot will be gradually improved through manual inspection and continuous updating and patching of the machine learning process and testing the performance of the chatbot.
Which is better, Google Bard or ChatGPT? Although Google Bard and ChatGPT are very similar in nature, there are some key differences between them.
The most obvious difference and main advantage is Google Bard's understanding of the latest information. Google Bard can tell you who the current British Prime Minister is, but ChatGPT can't.
GoogleBard was able to sum up the strengths and weaknesses of nearby restaurants, give advice based on house prices in 2023, and sum up major scientific events this year.
ChatGPT doesn't know the world after 2021, but Microsoft's Bing, which runs on GPT-4, has solved this problem after a lot of data training. Bing chat bots can give answers similar to those of Google Bard.
Compared with GPT-4, Google Bard seems to know more about local topics and facts. On the other hand, ChatGPT has a better understanding of logic, writing style and complex problems.
Since Google Bard is still in the testing phase, all this is likely to change in the future as you continue to develop and learn from interaction with users.
Google Bard is still in its infancy, although Google Bard is impressive, it is still in its infancy. In the course of testing, Google Bard chatbots often fail to answer questions correctly.
When I asked Google Bard for the lyrics of Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On", it provided Phil Collins's "Against All Odds". I made up a six-nation rugby game in 2000, and when I asked about the score of the game that didn't exist, Google Bard made up a score as the answer.
Sometimes Google Bard can not solve simple mathematical problems, it can easily solve extremely complex summation problems, but occasionally it is difficult to solve simple addition problems. Google Bard sometimes couldn't understand the logic of the question. When asked to write an English poem without the letter "b", he replied to an English poem full of the letter "b".
Google Bard has no sense of humor. I don't know if it's the reason for the design and positioning. Google Bard is not even the funniest chatbot. It's not funny and humorous like ChatGPT.
Asking Google Bard to write a stand-up crosstalk or sketch will get a very serious response. Around potentially controversial topics such as politics, gender and economics, there are always sober answers on both sides.
This may be to avoid controversy like ChatGPT, where some users have induced ChatGPT to make biased and discriminatory comments. But Google Bard's answer to topics that are not controversial is also particularly rigid.
Google Bard was asked to write a joke in the kitchen about a loving couple praising each other's cooking skills. And sometimes it gives an answer that is neither interesting nor relevant to the topic.
Although Google Bard is good at being neutral and cautious in most cases, there are occasional unexpected dark sides. When I used it, it told me a dark joke about Facebook: "what do you call Facebook posts? desperate cries for help."
Of course, all this is to be expected. Google Bard has restrictions on certain topics of hatred, violence or discrimination. It monitors this content through manual auditing and machine learning algorithms, but there are still omissions.
As more and more people use chatbots, it will better understand what is appropriate, what is safe, and what is interesting. In its latest update to ChatGPT, OpenAI says it has been working to improve the chatbot's understanding of humor, and Google may decide to avoid it and become a serious competitor.
