CTOnews.com learned that the contractor of this project is Shenzhen Hailanyun data Center Technology Co., Ltd. previously, in conjunction with the National Marine Environment Monitoring Center, the submarine data center was selected and settled in Qingshui Bay, Yingzhou Town, Lingshui Li Autonomous County. the data center is composed of shore stations, underwater relay stations, underwater data terminals and submarine cables, and shore stations carry power, network access and central monitoring facilities. Underwater relay station is a general term for intermediate connected underwater facilities responsible for power and network distribution, control and return transmission, while underwater data terminals centrally place electronic information equipment and underwater facilities. Among them, the underwater relay station and the underwater data terminal are deployed on the seabed of the designated target.

The core equipment of the data center, the submarine data module is in the shape of a cylindrical tank, with a safe closed environment of constant humidity, constant pressure and no oxygen, weighing 1300 tons, equivalent to the weight of 1000 cars, with a diameter of 3.6m. Equivalent to the core module of the Tianhe space station, it is currently the largest submarine data module in the world, with a structural design life of 25 years and an application depth of more than 30 meters. By placing the server in the data cabin on the sea floor and taking the ocean as the natural cold source, it has the advantages of saving electricity, no need for fresh water, saving land resources, high security, high computing power and rapid deployment.

The submarine data center fills the gap in the field of integration and development of marine engineering and new infrastructure of data center in China, and the overall technical level and industrialization capability are in the forefront of the world. At present, nine enterprises, including China Telecom, have signed contracts with the undersea data center.
