Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Goldman Sachs also reported that 300 million workers around the world may be replaced by AI. In the past, it was to equip employees with computers, but now, it is to equip computers with staff.
Last week, OpenAI published a paper that made beating workers tremble, predicting that 80% of Americans' jobs would be affected by AI.
Just five days later, Goldman Sachs followed suit and issued a report that dealt us another critical blow.
It is predicted that generative AI will lead to "major disruption" in the labour market, automating 300m jobs worldwide and replacing 7 per cent of US jobs by AI!
Goldman Sachs says it is entirely possible that this could happen if generative AI does deliver on what it already has.
ChatGPT has evolved so rapidly that other AI tools are also eyeing covetously, beating workers, really in danger!
300 million dozen workers are in danger! The report points out that the generative AI technologies with high attention, such as ChatGPT and DALL-E, have three main characteristics:
-General AI
-be able to generate novel and humanoid information
-provides an interface that can be used to understand and respond to natural language, image, audio and video.
In addition, many large companies not only mentioned the increase in spanning AI in corporate earnings conference calls, but also made more bets on artificial intelligence.
About 2% of jobs in the United States will be affected by artificial intelligence automation, the report said. Moreover, 25% of the jobs affected can be replaced by 50% of the jobs.
In addition, the report assumes that at least 50 per cent of important and complex weighted tasks may be replaced by AI, while 10-49 per cent of jobs are more likely to be assisted by AI and the remaining 0-9 per cent are less likely to be affected.
Goldman Sachs estimates that about 7 per cent of US jobs can be replaced by AI, 63 per cent of jobs will be supported by AI and only 30 per cent of jobs will not be affected by AI.
Goldman Sachs cites a study that found that 60% of the workforce now work in occupations that did not exist in 1940. This means that over the past 80 years, more than 85% of occupations have been driven by new technologies.
It predicts that in the United States and Europe, there will be jobs in 1Accord 4 that can be automated through AI.
Who is the most dangerous group?
Yes, as you think, of course it is a white-collar worker.
In the United States, offices and administrative posts are the most at risk of being replaced, with 46%, followed by lawyers (44%) and architects and engineers (37%).
Goldman Sachs believes that tasks that a technology like ChatGPT can do include filling out tax returns for small businesses, evaluating insurance claims and recording the results of crime scene investigations.
However, more complex tasks such as court decisions and checking the health of critically ill patients cannot be replaced by AI for the time being.
An earlier study by researchers at Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania and New York University also estimated that the professions most likely to be affected by technologies such as ChatGPT are lawyers.
Like the OpenAI report, the Goldman Sachs report tells us that blue-collar workers are safer. Dishwashers, plumbers and green chemicals are all still "iron rice bowls".
Only 1 per cent of tasks are unaffected by AI, including cleaners, maintainers and construction workers.
Installation and maintenance is the second least affected industry, with 4% of jobs likely to be affected. Construction and mining ranked third at 6%.
Of course, although the emergence of cars eliminated the coachman, it also gave birth to a new profession as a driver.
The Goldman Sachs report shows that if generative AI is widely used, it will not only save a lot of labor costs, but also create new jobs, such as prompt engineers with an annual salary of millions.
AI infiltrates 18% of global jobs
Goldman's estimates intuitively show that fewer jobs are affected by automation in emerging markets than in developed markets, but 18 per cent of global jobs can be automated through artificial intelligence.
According to the World Bank's analysis, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Sweden and the United States are probably the five most affected countries.
At the same time, employees in China, Nigeria, Vietnam, Kenya and India are less likely to be temporarily replaced by AI.
In addition, according to the report, AI-driven professional automation can improve global GDP through two main channels.
First, most workers are employed in occupations that are partially exposed to artificial intelligence automation. Second, many of the workers who have been replaced by artificial intelligence automation will eventually return to work, thereby increasing total output.
As a result, Goldman Sachs estimates that the widespread use of AI could increase global annual GDP by 7%, or nearly $7 trillion, over the next decade.
While the data show that artificial intelligence will undoubtedly have an impact on the labor market, it is not clear how much damage it will cause, the report concluded.
