How to photograph the stars and the Milky way? Nowadays, both the mobile phone and the camera are very powerful, so it is not difficult to take pictures.

However, beginners often encounter some problems when shooting the Milky way and the starry sky, which leads to the failure of the shooting. For example, out of focus, the stars are virtual, unreasonable parameter settings lead to star tails, the Milky way is not clear enough, and so on. This article enumerates some common problems for you to explain one by one.

01. Focus failure the performance of focus failure is the illusion of stars. A normal star is a solid point, and if it is out of focus, it becomes a virtual diffuse circle.

The star is very small, sometimes without zooming in, the focus failure is not easy to detect. After shooting, it is recommended to enlarge the photo immediately to see if there is any false shooting.

The most foolproof way to focus starry photography is to take a picture on the screen, find a bright star, zoom in on the screen, and then MF rotate the focus ring until the star becomes clear.

02. The foreground is often added as a foil when shooting the starry sky. Due to the use of a large aperture, sometimes the foreground will vanish, and what we want is a clear foreground.

We can use the principle of hyperfocal length to shoot, and the depth of field (clear part) of the picture has a range. When we focus, the focus is clear, and part of the front (foreground depth) and rear (rear depth of field) of the focus is clear. Turn the focus ring so that the star happens to be at the boundary of the depth of the back field, when the clear range of the picture is maximum.

At this time, even if a large aperture is used, as long as the foreground is 1 meter away from the camera, basically there will be no false shooting.

Which is the priority of exposure parameters: aperture, shutter or sensitivity? All three can increase the brightness. When shooting the Milky way, which one should be preferred to enhance the exposure?

Aperture first. A large aperture can increase the amount of light input, and the picture quality will be better.

Why can't the shutter work? Because the stars are moving, after the position changes, it is no longer possible to superimpose the brightness.

Why is the sensitivity not good? Because too high sensitivity will lose the quality of the picture.

The picture of the Milky way is not clear enough. The Milky way is not clear enough and there are not enough stars. There are many reasons for this phenomenon.

First of all, it may be underexposure, you can try to improve the exposure parameters to see if you can get a clearer picture.

Second, the light pollution is more serious. If the photo is overexposed as a whole after increasing the exposure, but still can not get a clear Milky way, it shows that the local light pollution is more serious, hiding the Milky way and stars.

Finally, the post-revision of the picture, many photos of the Milky way is particularly bright, and even can be described as "dazzling", this is through the late lighting or equator tracking shooting, as well as the effect of narrowband filter machine shooting, ordinary shooting is very difficult to have this effect.
