According to CTOnews.com news on March 31, Huawei released its annual report for 2022, with global sales revenue of 642.3 billion yuan up 0.9% year on year, and net profit of 35.6 billion yuan, down 68.7% from the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned that Huawei's R & D investment reached 161.5 billion yuan in 2022, accounting for 25.1% of the annual revenue, and the cumulative R & D expenditure over the past decade exceeded 977.3 billion yuan. As of December 31, 2022, Huawei had about 207000 employees, with R & D staff accounting for about 55.4 per cent (about 114000) of the total.

Meng Wanzhou, vice chairman, rotating chairman and chief financial officer of Huawei, said: "Huawei's total R & D expenditure in 2022 is 161.5 billion yuan, with a R & D expenditure rate of 25.1%, which is at an all-time high. Facing the future, we have pressure and more confidence!"
