The EU aims to set up an electric vehicle charging post every 37 miles (60 kilometers) by 2026, according to documents disclosed by Bloomberg on Tuesday.

The European Union also plans to land a hydrogen filling station in 2031.

Andreas Andreas Carlson, Sweden's minister of infrastructure and housing, said: "the agreement will send a clear signal to citizens and other stakeholders to install user-friendly charging infrastructure and gas stations for alternative fuels such as hydrogen across the EU."

Under the new rules, all new cars sold in the European Union must not emit carbon dioxide by 2035, and their carbon dioxide emissions must be 55% lower by 2030 than in 2021.
