On the morning of March 31, Beijing time, Netflix, an American video streaming giant (Netflix), said it was restructuring its film division and would reduce film production.

Netflix will merge departments that produce small and medium-sized films, a change that will lead to a small number of layoffs, including two executives leaving. One is Lisa Nishimura--, who led Netflix into stand-up comedy and original documentaries. She has worked at the company for more than 15 years and is now in charge of documentaries and small-budget films. The other is Ian brick, vice president of the film division, who has also worked at Netflix for more than a decade, helping produce the film "Kissing Booth" and working with filmmakers such as Nicole Harrofinser and the Diplas brothers.

Netflix recently released more original films than any other Hollywood company, producing more than 50 projects a year. But film director Scott Stuber is trying to cut production and focus his energy and resources on improving film and television quality.

Netflix has won Oscars for a number of films, such as "No War on the Western Front," which won best international feature film this year, and "Blade out of sheath 2: glass Onion," which attracts tens of millions of people. But more movies do not have a splash on the line, and then quietly pounce.
