In a complaint filed with FTC today, CAIDP claimed that GPT-4 was biased and deceptive and posed a risk to privacy and public safety. In its complaint, CAIDP said OpenAI's ChatGPT-4 failed to meet FTC's standards of "transparency, interpretability, fairness and empirical justification while promoting accountability."

"CAIDP has a clear responsibility to investigate and prohibit unfair and deceptive trade practices," Mark Rothenberg, chairman of FTC and a veteran privacy advocate, said in a statement. "We believe that FTC should pay close attention to OpenAI and GPT-4."

To this end, CAIDP urged FTC to investigate OpenAI, prohibit the release of new commercial versions of GPT-4, and ensure that the necessary guardrails are in place to protect consumers, businesses and commercial markets. "

Before the CAIDP, thousands of technologists, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk (Elon Musk), issued an open letter yesterday calling for a suspension of training of the more powerful AI system than GPT-4. The open letter said that all artificial intelligence laboratories should immediately suspend training of artificial intelligence systems that are more powerful than GPT-4 for at least six months. Otherwise, the government should step in and take compulsory measures.
