CTOnews.com, March 30, PowerToys continues to improve, and Microsoft recently added a hosts file editor and a monitoring tool to allow users to see which processes occupy specific files that cannot be deleted.

Now, the company and open source contributors are developing a new utility for Windows Registry, Registry Preview (Registry Previewer), which can help users view .reg files and help you check them before writing them to the Windows registry.

If you are using Windows 10 and 11, this tool allows you to preview registry files without a dedicated application, and will bring several convenient features, such as viewing .reg files mentioned above, or even integrating them into the right-click menu.

With this tool, you can also edit registry files, write what you need with a single click, and its UI is more friendly than notepad. Of course, it can also open the Registry Editor with one click, view registry categories, view registry changes in real time, and so on.

There is no information on when Microsoft plans to release Registry Previewer publicly, but CTOnews.com believes it won't take long. You can now view the development process on GitHub.
