Overall shipments of small and medium-sized AMOLED in 2022 were 762 million, down 6 per cent from a year earlier, as demand for smartphones cooled due to global inflation, the report said.
Samsung is the leading manufacturer in the AMOLED market, maintaining 429 million shipments in 2022, but its market share fell from 61 per cent in 2021 to 56 per cent in 2022. LG shows (LG Display) 10% market share in 2021, rising to 11% in 2022.
However, BOE has further increased its shipments, accounting for 12 per cent of the market share in 2022, surpassing LG display (LG Display) to rank second. Emerging AMOLED manufacturers Visionox and Everdisplay, the fourth and fifth largest AMOLED manufacturers in China, are steadily increasing shipments and closing the gap with their leading South Korean rivals.
