CTOnews.com, March 30 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft has provided an important new feature for its web-based PowerPoint users. Starting today, all users using the web version of PowerPoint can upload and save local videos to PowerPoint presentations.

Microsoft pointed out in a blog post that while users can already add videos to PowerPoint from online sources such as YouTube and Vimeo, the new feature will allow users who make their own videos to upload local videos from their computers to web-based PowerPoint files.

It is very easy to use this new feature. Here are the steps:

Open a new or existing web version of the PowerPoint file

Click insert menu

Then click the video option

Then click the video options on the device

You can select the video stored on the local computer that you want to add to the PowerPoint file.

Finally, click the open button to place the video on the slide

After placing the video in the PowerPoint slide, users can move or resize the video according to their preferences, and even apply shape effects.

CTOnews.com noted that although the new feature supports multiple video formats (.mov, .wmv, .avi, .m4v, .mkv, .asf, .ts, etc.), Microsoft recommends that webpage PowerPoint users upload videos in .mp4 format for the best quality, which is limited to 256 MB.
