CTOnews.com, March 29 (Xinhua)-- US models of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 folding screen phones have appeared on the Geekbench website, confirming that both phones will use the Snapdragon Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip. This is exactly the same SoC as in the Galaxy S23 series. Compared with the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, it provides slightly overclocked CPU and GPU cores (CTOnews.com Note: Kryo CPU core overclocking to 3.36GHz, standard version is 3.2GHz, and Adreno GPU frequency is also increased from 680MHz to 719MHz).

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 (SM-F946U) Geekbench 6 scored 2030 on a single core test and 5213 on a multi-core test. The Z Fold5 under test is equipped with 12GB memory and is preinstalled to run the Android 13 system.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 will have a 6.2inch external display, a 120Hz Super AMOLED display, a rear 50MP+12MP+10MP camera, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy and a 4400mAh battery. The device may not have an S Pen slot built in, but it will be compatible with S Pen Fold Edition.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 (SM-F731U) shares the same chip as larger folding screen phones, with a single core score of 2030 and a multi-core score of 5213 for Geekbench 6. The Z Flip5 flip folding screen is equipped with 8GB memory and is pre-installed to run Android 13.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will feature a 3.4-inch secondary screen and a near-square screen with an aspect ratio of 1.038, making it easier to interact with notifications, quick settings and widgets without turning on the phone. It can also double as a better camera viewfinder.

Samsung's new generation of folding screen phones are expected to be released in August, using new touch screen technology, water drop hinges and IPX8 waterproof.
