CTOnews.com March 29, Kia confirmed that it will launch the EV9 GT model in 2025. The new car will be the performance version of the EV9, with significantly improved power parameters. According to Kia EV6 GT, it will have an all-wheel drive dual-motor power system with 576hp, and the acceleration time of 100km is expected to be reduced to 4 seconds.

Kia President and CEO Ho Sung Song said the regular EV9 will go on sale in the United States in the second half of this year, and the GT version currently under development will be released in early 2025.

Like the previous EV6, the EV9 will be equipped with Hyundai's 800V E-GMP platform with ultra-fast charging speed and V2L power.

The Kia team confirmed that both the standard afterdrive version and the long-range version of the EV9 will be available in North America, although the official did not give detailed performance specifications, but it did share some data:

Long-lasting rear drive version (RWD) 150kW (350Nm) motor

The acceleration time of 100 kilometers is expected to be 9.4 seconds.

Standard endurance rear drive version 160kW (350Nm) motor

The acceleration time of 100 kilometers is estimated to be 8.2 seconds.

The total power of the dual motor with all-wheel drive variant can reach 282kW (600Nm torque)

Kia estimates that its EV9's long-range rear-drive version will provide a range of 541km (WLTP) on a single charge.

According to Kia, it will later introduce a "Boost" subscription feature that increases the torque of the front motor to 700 Nm, which can be purchased through Kia Connect Store.

In terms of appearance, the whole Kia EV9 car inherits the head and brain shape of the concept car, and the overall outline of the body is also very close to that of the EV9 concept car.

The Kia EV9 concept car is a large SUV built by Kia. The new car is based on the E-GMP pure electric platform, and the official map has announced that the mass production version will be available in China in 2024. There is no official pricing for the Kia EV9, but we expect the basic model to start at about $56000 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 385000 yuan).
