Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Windelight for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, March 29 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard is still in the middle of a tug-of-war, in which Sony played the role of an opponent and frequently questioned the "call of Duty" series.
In this regard, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick expressed his dissatisfaction, saying that Sony's recent actions are disappointing, but will not damage Activision Blizzard's long-term relationship with Sony.
In an email sent to Activision Blizzard employees on Tuesday, Kotick provided an update on the $69 billion deal, calling Sony's recent actions "disappointing". His news quotes Sony's recent statement that if Activision Blizzard is acquired by Microsoft, it may release a deliberately flawed call of Duty game on the PlayStation.
"We all know that enthusiastic players will first ask Microsoft to live up to its commitment to equality of content and quality," Kotick said. "moreover, all of us who strive to provide the best games in the industry are very concerned about players, so we will not launch substandard versions of the game."
According to CTOnews.com, Microsoft has said it has offered Sony a 10-year, legally enforceable contract for every new call of Duty game to be released synchronously on PlayStation when landing on the Xbox platform, providing full content and functionality.
Last month, Lulu Cheng Meservey, executive vice president of Activision Blizzard, said Sony Interactive Entertainment President Jim Ryan told Microsoft and Activision Blizzard: "I don't want a new call of Duty agreement. I just want to stop your merger."
Kotick appeared to mention the comment in an email sent to employees on Tuesday. "Sony even admits that they are not actually worried about the call of Duty agreement, they are just trying to stop our merger," he wrote. "this is clearly the disappointing behavior of a partner over the past three decades, but we will not allow Sony's actions to affect our long-term relationship. PlayStation players know that we will continue to provide the best games on the Sony platform, as since the launch of PlayStation."
