CTOnews.com, March 29 (Xinhua)-- according to the latest report from market research firm Counterpoint Research, Apple accounts for 25% of "Made in India" smartphone shipments in terms of revenue.

The study pointed out that overall shipments of "Made in India" smartphones fell 19% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the same period last year due to weak local demand.

Exports made the highest contribution to "Made in India" smartphones, accounting for 20 per cent of shipments and 30 per cent of exports.

Shipments of "Made in India" smartphones rose 34 per cent year-on-year, thanks to a "high-end" trend in India and an increase in exports of high-end smartphones, such as Apple's iPhone.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that Apple "made in India" shipments rose 65 per cent year-on-year and revenue rose 162 per cent year-on-year, increasing the brand's share of value from 12 per cent in 2021 to 25 per cent in 2022.

OPPO led "made in India" smartphone shipments with 22% in 2022, with Samsung in second place. Bharat FIH is still the largest EMS vendor in terms of smartphone shipments in 2022.
