The first batch of achievements include global ozone column concentration monitoring map, global nitrogen dioxide column concentration monitoring map, bright temperature monitoring map, sea ice monitoring map, hyperspectral data cube map and other data images, showing the important application achievements of hyperspectral comprehensive observation satellite in greenhouse gas detection, quantitative remote sensing monitoring of inland water quality, fine classification of ground features, mineral resources investigation, etc.

According to introduction, under the organization of the Earth Observation and Data Center of the National Space Administration, the first batch of image maps were jointly produced by the Satellite Environmental Application Center of the Ministry of Ecological Environment, the Land Satellite Remote Sensing Application Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the National Satellite Meteorological Center, the China Resources Satellite Application Center and other units. Considering the image quality, object type, imaging mode and other factors, 14 images were selected to reflect the unique functions and performance of hyperspectral integrated observation satellite. It includes 7 images of visible short wave infrared hyperspectral camera, 4 images of differential absorption spectrometer for atmospheric trace gases and 3 images of wide band thermal infrared imager.

The hyperspectral integrated observation satellite is an important part of the space-based system of the high-resolution Earth observation system, marking the completion of the construction task of the space segment of the high-resolution special project.

According to CTOnews.com previously reported, on December 9,2022, China successfully launched the hyperspectral comprehensive observation satellite (also known as Gaofen 5 01A satellite) using the Long March 2D launch vehicle at Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, and the satellite successfully entered the scheduled orbit.

After successful launch, the satellite moved to a six-month in-orbit testing phase. On January 21,2023, the satellite platform system and payload completed the functional test. The pre-processed images of each payload were of good quality and stable in orbit. It was officially transferred to the satellite-ground integration test stage. Up to now, the satellite ground system has received 320Tb data and produced 12256 scenes of Level 1 product data. Subsequently, Level 1 product data will be pushed to users according to the plan, and application system product testing will be carried out simultaneously.

In order to vigorously promote the extensive and deep-level application of high-score data, the satellite data will also be shared on the national remote sensing data and application service platform, continuously providing national civil remote sensing data and product application services including hyperspectral comprehensive observation satellite data for users at all levels, and promoting the co-construction and sharing of remote sensing data in China. The high score data has been distributed accumulatively to more than 4000 scenes and has been widely used in 28 industries, 31 provinces and more than 2800 units. 31 provincial data and application centers and 3 regional characteristic centers have been set up nationwide, and the application has been expanded to cities and counties. High score data has achieved a large number of application achievements in natural resources, ecological environment, agriculture and rural areas, emergency disaster reduction, meteorology and other industries, providing strong spatial information support for the modernization of national governance system and governance capacity, and becoming an indispensable new infrastructure and technical means for high-quality development.
