Earlier, Uncle Party @ Tom Henderson revealed that a new PS5 with a removable optical drive would be launched in September to replace the existing PS5 model, while the rumored Sony PS5 Pro (unnamed) is under development and is tentatively scheduled for release by the end of 2024.

In addition, a new patent recently released by Mark Cerney, chief architect of PlayStation, suggests that SIE is looking for ways to improve the performance of light pursuit in its games. Insider Gaming believes that this so-called PS5 Pro, like the upgrade from PS4 to PS4 Pro, will also bring enhanced graphics performance and faster loading speed.

As CTOnews.com has mentioned many times, the UK and the European Union are investigating Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, and they found that the next-generation PlayStation, the possible PS6, will not be released until at least 2028, so the PS5 half-generation upgrade is indeed likely to be released in the next two years.
