CTOnews.com March 26 news, Mobile Communications recently announced the launch of CC200A-LB satellite communication module for the industry application of the Internet of things. The product is equipped with a satellite Internet of things connection platform from ORBCOMM, a provider of Internet of things communications and solutions, and is designed to provide reliable global wireless network coverage and connectivity to remote areas that cannot be covered by cellular networks for maritime, transport, heavy equipment, agriculture, mining, and oil and gas monitoring scenarios.

The CC200A-LB satellite module uses the L-band of the Inmarsat GEO constellation, provides reliable global connectivity through IsatData Pro (IDP) satellite services, and supports two-way communication, low latency and near real-time reporting. The satellite module can also be used with cellular modules to create Internet of things applications that support "satellite + cellular" dual-mode connections.

In the exterior design, the CC200A-LB satellite module uses a compact LCC+LGA package (CTOnews.com Note: size is 37mm x 38mm x 3.35mm). It also supports multi-constellation GNSS positioning and an easy-to-use AT command set.

The maximum sent message supported by the CC200A-LB module is 6.4Kbytes, and the maximum received message is 10Kbytes. The typical transmission delay is 20 seconds at 100byte and 40 seconds at 1KB, while the receive delay is 12 seconds at 100byte and 70 seconds at 1KB.

The CC200A-LB satellite module will also be compatible with ORBCOMM's planned OGx service in the fourth quarter of 2023, which will greatly increase the speed and size of message transmission.

The CC200A-LB module can be purchased separately or with the removable antenna YEGM023AA, which is optimized for satellite connections and supports screw or magnetic installation. The antenna size is 75mm x 84mm x 25mm and is suitable for GPS L1, GLONASS L1, Galileo E1 and BDS E1 bands, providing high-performance satellite functions.
