According to reports, China Unicom currently has 1.17 million 5G base stations, accounting for about 30 per cent of the world. China Unicom will speed up the construction of digital information infrastructure represented by 5G, continuously improve the level of 5G network coverage, and build a digital base for the integration of digital economy and real economy.

He said that China Unicom plans to invest nearly 100 billion yuan in infrastructure construction and scientific and technological innovation such as 5G this year, further driving the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to produce greater spillover and multiplier effects.

By 2025, it will launch the scenario of 6G application, complete the early research of 6G technology, and start the engineering research phase of 6G technology in 2026.
