In terms of vision, Rokid Max uses a brand new BirdBath module with a FOV of 50 degrees, equivalent to a 215-inch ultra-high-definition screen 6 meters away, according to officials. At the same time, Rokid Max with Sony Semiconductor Technology Micro OLED screen, eye brightness up to 600nit, and the highest support 120Hz refresh rate.

Shortly after the release of Rokid Max, screenshots of Nreal CEO Xu Chi, another AR glasses brand, began to circulate on the Internet, showing that Nreal CEO was the first to share the Rokid Max experience on moments and "bluntly" pointed out seven major problems with the competitor's product. Nreal staff also confirmed the authenticity of the screenshot and said that the screenshot view on moments only represents CEO himself, not the company's point of view.

According to the screenshot, Xu Chi's main points are as follows:

First of all, Rokid Max uses a circuit design similar to Nreal's Light launched in 2019, with drivers and displays focused on the front, but the disadvantage is heat, which significantly affects the experience even in the case of 60Hz refresh rates.

Fifth, there is a problem of exaggerating the false mark in many parameters such as the weight, thickness, field of view angle and refresh rate of Rokid Max glasses. Nreal CEO even used Zhejiang University's motto of "seeking Truth and Innovation" to shout out the old senior (note: founder of Rokid): don't seeking truth and innovation put "seeking truth" first?

Sixth, Rokid Max does not pay attention to product details: the connection line between the USB-C cable and the mirror leg is asymmetrical; the "By" of the box "Designed By Rokid" should be lowercase "by"; the glasses are connected to MacBook, and the sound has obvious murmur, so it should be that the BSP has not been adjusted yet.

It is important to note that Nreal CEO also pointed out that Rokid even forgot to update the name of the Japanese company in the product manual, and the expression "XXX Co., Ltd." is still used in the packaging of the products on sale.

Finally, Nreal CEO mentioned that he hopes that Rokid Max Pro can adhere to its boasted monocular camera SLAM spatial positioning scheme, and never go back to hitting yourself in the face.

At the same time, Nreal CEO also stressed that these views only represent themselves, not the company.

Data show that Nreal was founded in 2017, in a short period of 6 years of growth, Nreal has developed into the first consumer AR glasses brand in China. Last year, Nreal launched two consumer-grade AR glasses, NrealX and NrealAir, in China. The sales of these two new products exceeded 12 million on the first day of sale, breaking the daily sales and sales records of Tmall's platform XR category. It is not difficult to see that NrealCEO Xu Chi does have the strength to question the shortcomings of competitors' products, but as for the strength of the two brand products, it is still up to the market to verify.
