In addition to fixing security vulnerabilities, the most noteworthy improvement in this update is to allow IT administrators to adjust the Edge sidebar.

Improved Microsoft Edge sidebar

The Microsoft Edge sidebar allows users to access productivity tools side by side in the browsing window. This version continues to enhance the sidebar to improve productivity and user experience.

In this release, administrators can now disable Discover applications. If users want to hide their sidebar instead of always showing it, they can do so in their sidebar settings (edge://settings/ sidebar).

In addition, when the administrator "enables" the sidebar, enterprise users can choose always Show or Auto-hide. Future versions of Microsoft Edge are planned to provide more customization options for sidebar toolbar buttons.

This stable release update also fixes the following security vulnerabilities:

CVE-2023-28286 (Grade: medium risk)

CVE-2023-28261 (level: low risk)
