CTOnews.com March 24 news, Intel released its resolution oversampling technology XeSS 1.1 SDK update, and conducted some upgrade demonstrations.

The new Intel XeSS 1.1 SDK brings two major updates, including improved visual quality and time stability through a new XeSS upgrade model for cross-vendor and integrated graphics cards, and an advanced XeSS upgrade model for sharp graphics cards.

The new model integrates new kernels, including a faster XMX kernel (sharp graphics card), a faster DP4a kernel (TGL / ADL / RPL iGPU), and a faster cross-vendor kernel (SM 6.4 GPU).

In terms of performance, gamers will notice a slight improvement in performance as the XeSS 1.1 kernel runtime decreases in all visual fidelity and upgrade modes. For example, if the goal is to have the game run at 60 FPS, the rendering budget can save half a millisecond of extra time per frame.

Another PPT shows a game demo of Tomb Raider: shadow, comparing XeSS 1.0 with XeSS 1.1, and the new version removes almost all artifacts encountered in previous versions, such as moire and flickering.

Finally, Intel also talked about building XeSS for integrated graphics cards and cross-vendor chips (AMD / Intel / others).

CTOnews.com found the game test in a PPT. Intel Core i7-1370p's integrated graphics card runs multiple games at 1080p (medium quality) in XeSS balance and performance mode, with a slight increase in the number of frames, such as some games that have increased from more than 20 frames to more than 30 frames to become playable.
