CTOnews.com March 24 news, according to the website of the State-owned assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the main arch rib of Shuangbao Bridge on Yuxiang double-track Expressway has been successfully closed recently.

As a double-span continuous arch bridge with the largest span under construction in the world, Shuangbao Bridge has achieved three world firsts-- the first in the world for the span of double arches, the first in the span of independent towers, and the first in the world for cable hoisting of the same structure.

CTOnews.com learned from the website of the State-owned assets Supervision and Administration Commission that Shuangbao Bridge, located in Wulong District of Chongqing, is a key control project of the double-track project of Yu-Xiang Expressway. The main bridge is a 2cm 405m continuous concrete-filled steel tubular arch bridge. The bridge is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2024.

According to reports, the total mileage of Yuxiang double-track highway is 280 kilometers, and the average bridge-tunnel ratio of the whole line reaches 80%. By the end of February, the overall construction of the Chongqing-Hunan double Line Expressway Project had progressed smoothly, with a total investment of 36.843 billion yuan since the start of construction, accounting for 57.52 percent of the total investment of 64.05 billion yuan. 52 bridges have been built and 39 tunnels have been built.
