CTOnews.com March 24, Intel today unveiled a new Intel vPro platform based on a full range of 13th generation Intel Core processors.

This year, vPro commercial equipment has further expanded its lineup, with partners such as Acer, Asustek, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Fujitsu, Panasonic and Samsung offering more than 170 related laptops, desktops and entry-level workstations.

Intel said the new Intel vPro platform has many security features built into the chip and provides protection against key threats, reducing the attack surface by about 70 per cent compared with the four-year-old PC. The new IT-based memory encryption enhances virtualization-based security in Windows to Intel threat detection technology, giving customers a wider choice of vendors for endpoint detection and response (EDR) to detect the latest threats more efficiently.

CTOnews.com learned from Intel officials that the new vPro platform is based on the 13th generation Intel Core processor, uses a high-performance hybrid architecture, has new performance cores and more efficient cores on some models, achieves smarter task classification through Intel hardware thread schedulers, and improves energy efficiency through Intel dynamic tuning technology. Intel vPro devices are optimized for modern commercial computing and are equipped with Intel Wi-Fi 6e (Gig+), Thunderbolt4 and other technologies.

According to Intel, Intel vPro models based on the 13th generation Intel Core have significantly improved performance, including:

Compared with the old desktop computer that has been in use for 3 years, the performance of Windows software is improved by 65%.

45% faster content authoring when multitasking compared to current AMD desktops

Compared with the old mobile PC that has been in use for 3 years, the performance of Windows software is improved by 2.3 times.

Compared with current AMD notebooks, the performance of Windows software is improved by 40%, and the performance of commercial software is improved by 25% compared with Apple M2.

Reports are generated 58 per cent faster when collaborating compared to current AMD notebooks.
