Huang Renxun says it has greatly improved the performance of the Grace CPU, which is 1.3 times that of its competitors' x86 products at 60% power.

Huang Renxun said: "first of all, what I can tell you is that both Grace and Grace Hopper are in production and have begun to advance to the stage of mass production. We are working with the world's largest OEM manufacturer and computer manufacturer to promote the landing of the chip."

Huang Renxun said that the current mainstream chip design cycle usually takes several years, while the CPU developed by Nvidia took only two years.

Huang Renxun also showed the Grace Hopper chip at the GTC exhibition. CTOnews.com learned from the report that Huang Renxun said the chip was 1.2 times faster than the next-generation x86 server chip "on average" in the HiBench Apache Spark memory-intensive benchmark, 1.3 times faster in the Google microservices communications benchmark, and only 60 per cent of the power consumption of x86.

Nvidia says Grace servers can perform 1.7 times as much as x86 servers in a power-constrained data center environment. The company also claims that Grace is 1.9 times faster in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) workloads.
